Brand Story
In 1989, Vinh Phat Investment Joint Stock Company was officially established by Mr. Tran Ngoc Trung who is affectionately known as Uncle Trung in Vietnam’s rice industry.
Uncle Trung’s dream has always been to upgrade the standards and brand of Vietnam’s rice industry to be competitive to other more developed countries. Driven by his dream, Vinh Phat is not only a pioneer in rice exports but also an innovator in rice production in Vietnam.
In 2009, Vinh Phat was the first to set up modern parboiled rice processing in Vietnam. Parboiling drives nutrients from the bran to the endosperm, so parboiled rice contains much nutrition. Today, Vinh Phat is the largest parboiled rice producer in Vietnam.
In 2017, Vinh Phat formed a joint venture with Wilmar International, Asia’s leading agribusiness group. The joint venture Vinh Phat Wilmar Rice Corporation (VWRC) brings together Vinh Phat’s deep knowledge and network of the domestic rice industry and Wilmar’s world-class production expertise, thus upgrading standards in Vietnam’s rice industry.
Over 30 years of development, Vinh Phat's contributions and efforts to the rice industry have been recognized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOIT) and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee as well as win the trust of its customers.
